“We're here to like, show our support for Israel, and advocate for the 133 hostages that are still being terrorized in Gaza, and show the university that the encampments aren't the monolith,” first-year student Emmit Dehart said.
“The antisemitic spirit on this campus will not do,” Johnson said. Last week Pursuit hosted a similar march at the University of Southern California. “I knew we needed to do something in our own backyard as well, since we're on frat row [where] UW is what — two, three blocks away?” Johnson said. “ And they have a growing now violent, antisemitic Hamas encampment. So we intentionally did it there. Because it's in proximity to, you know, what the campus has unfortunately allowed. And so we wanted to really send a message to Jewish students on campus as well as the Jewish community at large that there's a group of Christians in Seattle that still stand with them, and are praying for them and are supporting them.”
